The story

Nasreddine Nabi's Chiefs were put through the sword by an impressive Richards Bay outfit in a 2-0 loss in the Betway Premiership at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Amakhosi stay in eighth place in the standings after suffering their ninth league defeat of the season. The Soweto giants will be eager to return to winning ways and impress their KwaZulu Natal faithful when they face Golden Arrows after the FIFA international break on 30 March.

The Glamour Boys have had some inconsistent results when playing in Durban this season, recording three wins and two losses playing against AmaZulu, Chippa United, Golden Arrows, Sekhukhune United and more recently, the Natal Rich Boyz.

Nabi recognised the support the team has received playing in Durban and thanked the Khosi Nation at large for their steadfast support, assuring them that the team is committed to working hard to improve both results and performances.

"The first thing I would say to the fans is to thank them because they always come to support us in numbers, not only in Durban but everywhere we go," noted Nabi during a press conference after Sunday's loss in Umlazi.

"In football, we know there's only three possible outcomes, today, it's unfortunate that we disappointed because they [Chiefs fans] believe and they wanted to see their team winning.

"The only thing that I can tell them is, 'We are going to work harder and they need to stay behind us, we are going to work harder to make them proud,'" added Nabi to the media, as translated by his assistant, Cedric Kaze from French.
