He is known mainly for his exploits on the field but Argentine talisman Lionel Messi is making an even bigger impact off it. He recently showed his compassionate side when he returned to his hometown to feed the homeless.
All the attention was on his outbursts at the recent Copa America that saw hosts Brazil walk away as champions but Messi quickly switched his attention to matters away from the field.
The 32-year-old FC Barcelona star opened up his restaurant VIP bar in his hometown of Rosario in Argentina, to take in homeless people, giving them hot food and shelter.
As of last Thursday, five deaths had been linked to the cold weather - according to local media.
This came after a cold wave gripped the city of Rosario. Messi and his family plan to continue this until the extreme weather subsides.
