Khune Shows Class By Dubbing Meyiwa Captain

Khune Shows Class By Dubbing Meyiwa Captain

Good morning Khosi fans! Yesterday our main chief, Itumeleng Khune, showed some great sportsmanship and friendship when he said he would've wanted Senzo Meyiwa to be Bafana's number one.

Itu was present at yesterday's memorial service at the Standard Bank Arena in Johannesburg, where he spoke about the long-term rivalry he shared with Meyiwa, and how their friendship grew.

During Khune's absence, Senzo took over the number one jersey for the national team to showed class and poise as he helped keep four clean sheets in the process.

At the same time, Meyiwa inherited the captain's armband in our skipper's absence, which ultimately sparked debate once again over who should start when Khune was fit.

And while speaking at the memorial, captain fantastic admitted that he was going to ask Shakes Mashaba to keep Meyiwa as captain and first choice goalkeeper.

"I would have asked coach Shakes Mashaba to let Senzo continue as number one and as captain. I would like to thank coach Shakes Mashaba for believing in Senzo because we always dream of representing our country and being number one for our nation," he said.

This is another commendable and honourable move by Khune, who has been deeply mourning the loss of Meyiwa.

Our captain is the epitome of a gentleman and leader, and I know that when he eventually recovers and takes over the number one jersey for Bafana Bafana again, he will do Meyiwa proud.

Would you have done the same if you were Khune?
