They play for massive clubs, and get paid massive money, but in my opinion, here are five of the most overpaid footballers in the English Premier League.
Jack Wilshere - £90k
It's an awful lot of money for a player who spends most of the season on the treatment table. Wilshere is not only one of the most overpaid footballers in England, but one of the most overrated. Until he backs up the hype with impressive performances, I will continue doubting his ability.
Robin Van Persie - £250k
How? A 31-year-old forward who only played 26 league games this season gets paid that amount every week. In my opinion, Manchester United need to offload Van Persie once the transfer window opens to make way for a younger player, who will do double what he does, for less than double his wages.
Samir Nasri - £120k
I believe that Nasri's move from Arsenal to Manchester City was a great example of a player motivated by money. He said that he wanted trophies, and he won the league after his first season, but how exactly has he contributed to the team?
Angel Di Maria - £150k
When he signed for United, Red Devils fans couldn't believe the news. A Champions League winner with Real Madrid coming to Old Trafford? Never! It happened, but not exactly as planned. Di Maria proved to be a flop at United, but yet he is still one of their highest paid players.
Martin Skrtel - £90k
An average defender in an average side – Skrtel surely takes home more than he deserves every week. Liverpool can't afford to pay their players as much as the other top guns do, especially a defender who doesn't add value to the team.
Which other players do you feel are overpaid?
