Kermit Erasmus may not have scored for us on the weekend, but his touches, runs, played balls and positional play left me pondering how much alike he is to Manchester City's Sergio Aguero.
The Argentina may have notched up an impressive four-goal haul this past outing against Tottenham Hotspurs, but there are some mirroring characteristics between the two players.
Aguero is a modern day trickster as a striker. He possesses a great amount of skill that sees him often leaving defences rattled.
Outside of his natural eye for goal, Aguero has a great amount of pace and flair on the ball. He isn't afraid to try the audacious, and that talent is similar to what Erasmus has when he is feeling confident.
It is also important to note that both strikers before to play alone upfront, and are often the key men in their respective clubs.
On the field they possess a number of skills and similarities that run parallel with each other. For instance, this season Aguero has raked in a shots per game total of 4,5, while his opposite number strikers marginally less with 3,3.
Aguero's passing percentage this year also ranks in at 83%, and Kermit lingers just short of that in the 78-80% region. Also, note how often they linger on the last man and make defence splitting runs.
There are some evident resemblances between the two players, and, on top of their skills, they also stand at the same stocky height of 171cms.
Next time you watch Kermit play, try and spot the similarities. What do you guys think about this?
