What makes a club a complete package is that they know how to keep good relationships with their fans and the media, and Kaizer Chiefs does exactly that…
Today, the Fan Park crew takes a look at which PSL club has the biggest following on the social media platforms, and what makes Chiefs that extra bit special.
Twitter Followers
3. Mamelodi Sundowns - 55 233 followers
2. Orlando Pirates - 251 855 followers
1. Kaizer Chiefs – 476 552 followers
Facebook followers
3. Mamelodi Sundowns – 268 768 followers
2. Orlando Pirates - 512 627 followers
1. Kaizer Chiefs – 1.97 million followers
Other teams who are quite active on the social media platforms are Ajax Cape Town and Bidvest Wits, but their numbers don't even come marginally close to the big three.
What makes the Khosi clan so special is that they are very interactive with their fans. Once a week they hold quizzes with their Twitter followers, and they are continuously replying to questions posed to them by the fans.
Third placed Sundowns, however, aren't as effective in this regard. They tweet very little and barely put up any content on their Facebook or Twitter pages.
Pirates, on the other hand, are a happy medium between the Chiefs and Sundowns. They are active on their social platforms but don't reach the heights of interaction Chiefs do with their fans.
It is certainly good to see the local clubs interacting with their fan base. Who do you think has the best social media pages?
