The story

14 years ago, Siphiwe Tshabalala ignited the 2010 FIFA World Cup in a way that was simply unforgettable.

In the first-ever World Cup finals match hosted in Africa, Tshabalala seized the moment with a goal etched into football folklore.

Racing down the left flank at the FNB Stadium, with vuvuzelas blaring at the 94 737-strong arena, the Kaizer Chiefs legend unleashed a breathtaking strike that soared into the top corner of the net.

From Kagisho Dikgacoi's deft through ball to Shabba dance celebration that ensued, Tshabalala's goal remains a timeless moment in FIFA World Cup history.

What helped elevated Tshabalala's goal to legendary status was the iconic commentary delivered by the ever-poetic Englishman, Peter Drury.

Drury has gone onto call that goal the best he's ever commentated over, while Tshabalala still fondly looks back on the goal and celebrates its anniversary every year, calling it "Shabba Day."

It comes a massive surprise that Shabba and Drury have only just met for the first time, as revealed by the former on his social media pages.

Shabba bumped into Drury at the airport after Spain's triumph over England in Sunday's UEFA Euro's Final in Berlin.

"Day made. [I have] finally met the legendary Peter Drury," said Shabba upon meeting Drury, who cut a stunned figure and simply responded: "Amazing, amazing."
