Even though Real Madrid are on top of the La Liga standings and, technically, they are still in the running to win a treble, but with three consecutive defeats, talk of crisis at the club is brimming…
Now, obviously this may be a bit premature, given that we have just come off a 22-match winning run and that our momentum was simply disrupted by the Christmas break, but January is going to be a vital month for us. Defeat in the Copa Del Rey is looking highly likely and would put an end to our treble hopes that were so high just over a week ago…
And, what's more, expectations at the club will always be sky high. The pressure could cause our incredible team to finally crumble in a similar manner to what we're seeing at Barcelona…
With that said, however, we do have incredibly strong players, a great coach and we are on top of the league and we have an easy round of 16 tie in the Champions League. I am sure that Carlo Ancelotti can get it together and turns things back to the way they were. And, if we give it our all in the return leg against Atletico, anything is possible. A treble could still be on the cards.
It is too early to call this a crisis, but let's hope we can turn things around before it becomes an issue.
