'Salum Is Not For Sale, He Is Not Going Anywhere'

'Salum Is Not For Sale, He Is Not Going Anywhere'

A Tanzanian outfit has responded amid reports that they are open to selling a rumoured Kaizer Chiefs target.

Throughout the mid-season transfer window, the Glamour Boys were linked with the services of Tanzania international Feisal Salum. Last season, the 27-year-old finished second in the Golden Boot race in the Tanzanian Premier League, and he has seemingly continued his good form during the 2024/25 campaign.

His displays for Azam FC have allegedly attracted the interest of clubs such as Chiefs and Simba SC.

Reports from the continent claimed that both teams tried to sign him during the mid-season window in January; however, neither side was successful in luring him away from Wana Lambalamba Chamazi Millionaires as the club were believed to be unwilling to part ways.

News did emerge that the club were keen to offer the 41-capped international a new contract in an effort to retain their star player, but now, according to Rwandan journalist Eric Ndagijimana, the club are open to selling the Zanzibar native should they receive a suitable offer.

The same report claims that Azam and Chiefs have opened discussions over a possible deal, although no official bid has been submitted by the South African outfit yet. After the addition of Thabo Cele earlier this year, Nasreddine Nabi is said to be keen on further reinforcing his midfield with the addition of 'Fei Toto'.

The duo worked together at Young Africans, and the aforementioned journalist now suggests that a reunion could be on the cards.

Azam FC have since denied the rumour that they are open to parting ways with Feisal Salum with club media officer Hasheem Ibwe speaking to the Siya crew.

"If there is any player we are willing to keep, even with our lives, it is that guy Feisal." Ibwe revealed.

"We have never opened any talks with any club because He is not for sale.

"Feisal Salum has another 17 months on his contract with Azam.

"He is not going anywhere as we are making sure that we keep him.

"We renewed his contract because we need him in the team.

"He is an important part of the team."
