Fadlu Davids' Simba SC could have reclaimed their spot on top of the league, but a bizarre own goal ensured that it did not happen.
The Reds of Msimbazi went into their Tanzanian Premier League encounter against Singida Big Stars FC in second place with 43 points, just two points behind league-leaders Young Africans SC.

Despite Sead Ramovic's shock departure from the club earlier this week, Yanga SC seemed unaffected as they thrashed KenGold FC 6-1 on Wednesday.
Needing all three points to put them themselves in pole position for the league title, Simba fell short, drawing 1-1 to Singida.
The side found the breakthrough through Leonel Ateba in the 58th minute, and were in the lead until they conceded an equaliser in the 75th minute in spectacular fashion.
Ladaki Chasambi passed the ball back to Moussa Camara at an awkward height and as a result, the goalkeeper failed to control the ball and had to watch it cross his own goal line.
