Truter Rates Mabuya Amid Chiefs Talk

Lwandile Mabuya of Richards Bay FC during the Betway Premiership 2024/25 game between Richards Bay and Mamelodi Sundowns at King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban on 28 December 2024

Brandon Truter, who is Lwandile Mabuya's former coach, has given a rating for the defender amid talks of a possible move to Kaizer Chiefs.

As reported by the Siya crew, Mabuya is strongly linked with a move to Chiefs, with his club Richards Bay understood to be open to allowing him to seek greener pastures.

The 24-year-old is seen as a possible replacement for Reeve Frosler whose future with the Soweto giants has become increasingly in doubt after he entered the last six months of contract and is eligible to sign a pre-contract with another club.

Having coached Mabuya at the Natal Rich Boys where he has been outstanding and consistent with his performances despite the team's disappointing 2024/25 Betway Premiership campaign due to unsatisfactory results, Truter believes that the right-back does have what it takes to prosper at any club.

"Top player! He is a top player because he has a good attitude, and he wants to learn, and he wants to work hard. He always wants to do the extra work, and his mind is where it should be. He is a very humble boy, and he is very coachable, and I foresee big things for him," said Truter, speaking exclusively to the Siya crew.
