The story

Former National Women's Team captain, Janine van Wyk, took to Instagram on Tuesday to announce that she is expecting her first child.

Van Wyk, who is Africa's most-capped international footballer, posted two pics of her and partner, JVW FC defender Julia Molin holding up a printed sonogram to reveal the big news.

"Our pack is growing with a tiny human, coming in 2025," wrote the ex-Banyana centre-back in a shared Instagram post with her 34-year-old significant other.

The 37-year-old JVW FC co-founder and assistant coach stepped away from the game in December 2023 after making a record-breaking 185 caps for Banyana Banyana.

Van Wyk shared a dressing room at Glasgow City in Scotland and at Ergotelis FC in Greece with her Swede partner, Molin before playing together locally for van Wyk's club.
