The story

As one of 13 sets of brothers to have played in the PSL, Ryan and Bryce are among the fortunate few athletes who have achieved the dream of becoming professionals alongside their siblings.

The Moon brothers were profiled on the PSL KZN Focus magazine show on SuperSport, with Golden Arrows striker, Ryan Moon mentioning how watching Bryce's successful career gave him plenty of motivation to make it in South Africa's top flight.

"I learnt a lot watching his [Bryce's] career. For me, it's been amazing. It's not often that you interact with your heroes and learn from them, I've been fortunate enough to do that. I think I learnt how to do things the right way, to honour God, honour your craft and that the harder you work, the luckier you get.

"He's done things the right way on and off the field, with his career, he's played in the Champions League and for Bafana. He's also got a very successful business, he's made that transition and it gives me a lot of hope in terms of my career and moving forward. I can also transition into something that I like doing and I think most importantly, whatever you want to do, as long as you're passionate, you'll be successful," says the younger Moon about his older brother, Bryce's career and his post-football business venture.

The former Panathinaikos and Mamelodi Sundowns full-back heaped praise on his younger brother, Ryan, for his dedication and his work ethic.

"He's a very dedicated person and he's got to see where I come from and what I've been through. So, he's had the opportunity to see what's good and what's bad and use the best of what he's seen, for himself. That's a good opportunity for him to have because I always say, why learn from your own mistakes when you can learn from someone else's.

"I see him growing as a football player and as a person. And yeah, he's got a good future ahead of him. I just hope that he keeps on and I hope he gets the good break that he deserves," stated Bryce.
