A player's father had to get involved as Orlando Pirates are getting closer to sealing a deal with one of the sought-after transfer targets in Southern Africa, the Siya crew has been reliably informed.
Since the beginning of this week, Pirates have been in talks to conclude a deal with highly rated Angolan attacker Deivi Miguel Vieira, who is otherwise known as Gilberto, with a view to add him to the travelling group to Spain for a pre-season training camp.

With the 23-year-old keen to join the Buccaneers, having already landed in Mzansi, there has been a delay in the finalisation of the deal due to the reported over R10 million asking price from the club's employers, Petro de Luanda FC.
"It looks like it will finally be happening, after the negotiations that have gone back and forth between the parties. Pirates have reached an agreement with Petro for 600 US dollars (+/-R 11 000 000 in today's exchange rate), for the transfer," said a close Siya source.

"Gibele (Gilberto) has already done the medicals and he has been waiting for the conclusion of the negotiations between his representatives and the club about his wage and things like that. The negotiations took longer than expected but everything seems to have been sorted now. It took the intervention of the player's father to act as a middleman between the player's agent and the club for the discussions to be concluded. The proposal has been accepted and a contract is being prepared for the parties to sign," concluded the source.
Gilberto is most effective as a right winger though he can also play on the left, as well as in all the attacking positions in midfield and up front.
