Crystal Palace's Michael Olise is coming off an impressive third season in the Premier League with the Eagles.

Although the winger's campaign was curtailed by hamstring issues, the 22-year-old still managed to score 10 goals and provide six assists in the 19 league matches he played in the English top flight last season.

His performances in south London led to many calling for his inclusion in Didier Deschamps' France squad for the ongoing 2024 UEFA European Championship.

He was ultimately snubbed, though, and because his father is Nigerian, his mother being of Algerian descent, and the fact that he was born in England, the possibility of him representing another nation outside of the French became a possibility.

However, Henry, has seemingly put all those doubts to rest, stating that Olise wants to play for the two-time FIFA World Cup winners.

The London-born attacker was selected by the ex-Arsenal man in his preliminary squad for the men's football tournament at the Paris Olympics, and Henry has claimed that while Olise does acknowledge that the attacker could play for other nations, he wants to don the famous Les Bleus jersey.

"There's something I would like to emphasise," Henry said, as per Afrique Sports.

"We know he has many options, that's clear. But his desire to show that he wants to play for the French team, that needs to be emphasised.

"Because if he were English, he would have already joined the England team."
