Yadah Boss Comments On Billiat's Fitness After Chiefs Issues

Yadah FC's big boss has talked about Khama Billiat's physical condition following his poor injury record at Kaizer Chiefs.

The 33-year-old was unveiled at the Zimbabwean club on Thursday after he signed a short-term deal with the side last month.

Billiat joins Yadah as a free agent after leaving South African giants Chiefs at the end of his contract in 2023, which marked the conclusion of a disappointing five-year spell in Naturena.

Injuries and general fitness issues hampered the attacking midfielder's chances of succeeding at Amakhosi, but Yadah club chief Walter Magaya believes Billiat's technical skills will help him upon his return to Zimbabwe's Premier Soccer League.

"He has an athletic frame and that's an advantage on his part," he told The Herald.

"His technical ability is top-notch and that should carry him over in the upcoming season.

"Before we decided to rope him in, we looked at all those factors. We do not doubt that he will do very well for the club."

Magaya also insisted the club would be not putting pressure on the former Mamelodi Sundowns star.

"We're not going to exert any pressure on him but we know he is a top player," he added.

"The platform that we have given him will make him excel because we know he is a good player.

"We have seen him in training along with his new teammates and the signs are very encouraging. Barring any injuries, he should be able to turn back the hands of time."
