Cape Verde 2-2 Egypt
Egypt advanced to the Africa Cup of Nations Last 16 after playing to a 2-2 draw against Cape Verde on Monday night.
Cape Verde had already sealed their spot in the round of 16 after defeating Ghana and Mozambique in their opening two games.
The Pharaohs, meanwhile, were without talisman Mohamed Salah and knew only a victory would see them stand a chance of going through to the next round.
The Blue Sharks opened the scoring on the stroke of halftime, with Gilson Benchimol finding the back of the net with team's first shot on target.
Egypt did get back on level terms five minutes after the interval as Trezeguet sent a first-time volley past goalkeeper Vozinha shortly after his arrival.
Mostafa Mohamed looked to have secured the winning goal in the 93rd minute, but Cape Verde rescued a point after Bryan Teixeira slammed home from close range to seal top spot.
Egypt have also have qualified after Ghana failed to beat Mozambique in the other group game.
Mozambique 2-2 Ghana
Ghana missed the chance to clinch second spot in Group B after throwing away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Mozambique.
Coach Chris Houghton made one change in the Ghanian attack as Inaki Williams came out and was replaced by Joseph Paintsil on the right flank.
Mozambique entered the encounter bottom of the group but they needed Cape Verde to do them a favour stand any chance of securing second spot.
The Black Stars were awarded a penalty after 15 minutes for Nanani's foul on Paintsil, which allowed Jordan Ayew to step up and slot home for the opening goal.
Mozambique were all over Ghana in the second half, but they were let down defensively again as the Black Stars were awarded a second penalty, which Ayew converted after a handball in the box.
Mozambique were awarded a penalty of their own on 90 minutes for a handball on Andre Ayew. Geny Catamo stepped up to convert penalty.
The Mambas completed the comeback a couple minutes later as Reinlido rose above his marker to head past Richard Ofori, which means Ghana will wait to see if they are among the best third-place finishers.
