Kaizer Chiefs face the prospect of being without a key defender following an injury on international duty.
Amakhosi have already had a lot to deal with this season and the news that Thatayaone Ditlhokwe was taken off during Botswana's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Guinea on Tuesday with what looked like a dislocated shoulder will have management and the technical team worried going into the final few weeks of the year, where they need to collect as many points as possible to close the gap between them and leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

Botswana beat Guinea 1-0, thanks to a goal from Kabelo Seakanyeng in the 79th minute, and are currently second in Group G behind leaders Algeria.
Ditlhokwe, signed on a pre-contract from SuperSport United, has been one of the top performers for Chiefs this season, but they look set to be without him when the DSTV Premiership gets back underway, though indications are that the injury is not too serious.
At this stage, the Siya crew does not have the full details on the severity of the injury and an announcement is likely to be made on his availability. Ditlhokwe, who was taken off just after the hour mark on Tuesday, has played every single minute this season in all competitions for Amakhosi, showing just how important he is for the side and why the injury would have been of grave concern to everyone at Naturena.
Chiefs have a big clash away from home this weekend against Moroka Swallows at Dobsonville Stadium and interim coach Cavin Johnson could be forced into making changes at the back, with the option of playing Edmilson Dove as a left-sided centre back to replace Ditlhokwe, should his injury be a serious one.

Njabulo Ngcobo and Zitha Kwinika are also options for Johnson to play alongside Given Msimango.
