Real Madrid 'Contact' Ancelotti Replacement

Real Madrid 'Contact' Ancelotti Replacement

Real Madrid have reportedly already identified and begun talks with the manager they want to replace Carlo Ancelotti next season.

Real Madrid are said to have identified their ideal replacement for Carlo Ancelotti, and have reportedly begun talks over his potential appointment.

It seems the writing is on the wall for Los Blancos' record UEFA Champions League-winning manager as Ancelotti looks poised to leave the Santiago Bernabeu for the second time in his career at the end of the current campaign.

According to Sport, club president Florentino Perez is keen on shaking things up in management and has deemed the 64-year-old surplus to requirements.

It initially seemed that a former Real star under the Reggiolo native during his first stint at the club, Xabi Alonso, was the favourite to take over in Madrid, having enjoyed a great start to his managerial career with Bayer Leverkusen.

However, the same report claims that Los Merengues are keen on sticking with the Italian theme by appointing Brighton Hove Albion boss Roberto De Zerbi.

Despite him not coaching one of the major clubs in England, Perez is said to believe the former midfielder is capable of making the leap to the LALIGA juggernauts.

What the Spanish chiefs seem to appreciate most, however, is De Zerbi's ability to bring the best out of young players as well as players who appear to be past their best.

With Real having some of the world's best young talents in their ranks, coupled with early resurgence Ansu Fati at the Amex Stadium, Los Blancos reportedly see De Zerbi as an ideal fit.

Talks between the parties are believed to be at an early stage as there is still much of the season to contest, however.
