Tinkler Gives New Insight Into Billiat Approach

Tinkler Gives New Insight Into Billiat Approach

With Cape Town City open to the possibility of signing former Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat, the Siya crew has been informed that there is a condition in place before any green light is given.

City head coach Eric Tinkler told Soccer Laduma that Billiat won't be signed without a trial or assessment.

The former Bafana Bafana star confirmed that it's true they are interested in the Zimbabwean and that the Cape Town club will give him time to train with the team first before they make the decision to whether sign him or not.

"You should know that we haven't signed him yet. We will wait for him to come and we train with him and see what he can do on the field," Tinkler told the Siya crew.

"At the moment there is nothing much I can say until we see him. No, I can't say for how long we will assess him. I can't say three days or one week or how long.

"But before we sign him, if we are going to sign him, we have to look at him go first. So, for now I can't say how he is going to help us until we see what he has got.

"Remember he has stayed for some time without playing active football," Tinkler told Soccer Laduma.

Billiat had been out of action at Chiefs due to a long term injury and then Amakhosi didn't renew his contract when it expired at the end of June this year.

He is currently in Saudi Arabia where he is training with a club, hoping to secure a move in the Middle East while Cape Town City are waiting in case the player doesn't secure a Saudi Pro League contract.
