Speaking to the club's website, De Zerbi said:
"This is a great deal for all of us. I am sure Ansu will help us to reach a new target and we can help him get back at the level he deserves to be."
At one point, Fati seemed destined to join Tottenham Hotspur after the north Londoners initiated talks for his signature, but the Seagulls have managed to swoop in and secure his services instead.
The deal is a straight loan, with no option for the English side to buy, while they are also covering the majority of the player's salary for the duration of the campaign.
Brighton's Italian head coach is believed to have been a major reason as to why Fati decided to make his way to the Amex Stadium, having been impressed by the EPL side's playing style, and he is now the coastal side's eighth signing of the window.
