Another Man City Star 'Set' For Shock Saudi Move

Aymeric Laporte will reportedly join Al Nassr from Manchester City.

A second Manchester City player is reportedly set for a surprise move to the Saudi Pro League following Riyad Mahrez's transfer to Pitso Mosimane's former club.

According to talkSPORT, France-born Spain international Aymeric Laporte could become the next high-profile footballer to make the move to Saudi Arabia in the coming days.

The centre-back, who joined the Citizens from Athletic Bilbao in 2018, is believed to have signed a contract worth £64 million (R1.5 billion) with Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr.

It is claimed the 29-year-old will commit to the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup winners for three years, after becoming surplus to requirements under Pep Guardiola in England.

Laporte's signature will reportedly cost Al Nassr £25.6 million (R619 million), with Croatia international Josko Gvardiol having recently been signed by City for a staggering £76.9 million (R1.8 billion) on a five-year deal.

The defender featured from the bench in City's opening match of the Premier League campaign, a convincing 3-0 victory over Burnley, but was excluded from the team that took on Newcastle United this past weekend.

Injuries appear to have hampered his progress since his arrival in Manchester, and he looks to be preparing to leave after making 180 appearances for the club.
