The London native's second season at Old Trafford has come to an end, but following Sancho's lucrative switch back to England in 2021, the Mancunians are yet to really see a return on the €85 million (R1.7 billion) investment they made in the attacker.

In the 2022/23 campaign, the England international managed just seven goals and three assists for the Red Devils, and it seems the record English champions have become disillusioned with the player.

According to the Daily Star, United are now willing to part with the fourth-most expensive arrival in their history for a sum as low as £45 million (R1 billion).

The news comes after Sancho's former club, Borussia Dortmund, tried to acquire him on a season-long loan. This offer was reportedly rejected by the English giants as they are only open to letting Sancho go on a permanent basis.

United paid as much as they did for the Manchester City academy graduate because of how prolific he was from out wide at Signal Iduna Park. During his time with the Bundesliga outfit, the 23-year-old amassed 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 outings for Der BVB, consequently garnering massive interest from Europe's biggest sides.
