Beckham's Son Praised After Debut In England

David Beckham's son Romeo, who recently joined Brentford on loan, has earned big praise from his new manager following an impressive debut for the club's B team.

Having been a regular for Inter Miami's B team over the past year, the 20-year-old signed a short-term contract with Brentford this past weekend, making his debut from the bench for the team's reserve side on Tuesday evening.

Beckham was introduced as a substitute for the final 35 minutes of the Brentford B team's 3-2 win over Erith Belvedere FC in the London Senior Cup, impressing as he looked to prove himself right away.

Speaking after the game, his coach Neil MacFarlane was encouraged by what he saw from the footballer following in the footsteps of his famous father.

"Romeo really drove us forward in the wing-back position," he told the club's website.

"He created some really good moments for us with some terrific deliveries.

"He had an opportunity to score as well and I was thrilled with him and the group in general for keeping on the front foot. We never gave up and we got through."

Brentford's B side will take on Aston Villa next in the Premier League Cup on Friday, a game Beckham will be hoping to get more minutes in following a bright start at the Bees.
