Barcelona 'Ready To Get Rid' Of Copa Del Rey Hero

Barcelona 'Ready To Get Rid' Of Copa Del Rey Hero

Ousmane Dembele, Ansu Fati and Raphinha

Despite scoring the winner in Barcelona's narrow 4-3 Copa del Rey victory on Wednesday night, reports suggest that the Blaugrana are ready to offload one of their star attackers.

Pique To Come Out Of Retirement For Club He Owns?

La Masia alumni Ansu Fati found the back of the net in the 103rd minute to save the Blaugrana's blushes against third division side Intercity in the Spanish Cup as Xavi Hernandez's men squeaked past the minnows to secure their passage to the competition's round of 16 stage.

Despite the 20-year-old's heroics, however, it seems the Catalan giants have been largely unimpressed with the winger's overall display this season.

According to Fichajes, he could be made surplus to requirements in this transfer window.

Barca do not seem pleased with many of the wide players currently at their disposal, with Ferran Torres and Raphinha also said to be deemed to be playing below the required level.

Ousmane Dembele, meanwhile, has been heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain recently, with the French side said to be interested in acquiring the 25-year-old's services, meaning that, as far as the Catalan outfit is concerned, the wide attacking positions at the club are by no means secure.

In the case of Fati, he has been plagued by injuries since emerging as one of the newest and brightest talents hailing from Barca's famed academy.

Man Utd's First January Signing Confirmed?

The Guinea Bissau-born forward started his senior career with the five-time European champions brightly, but since returning to first-team duties in the 2022/23 season following a knee injury, his form has dipped.

Club president Joan Laporta insisted during a press conference on Thursday afternoon that neither Fati nor Dembele are for sale, but with the club also needing to bring money in to help navigate their way out of their precarious financial position, it remains to be seen if this changes later in the window.
