Chelsea To Hijack Deal For Arsenal Target?

Chelsea To Hijack Deal For Arsenal Target?

Mykhailo Mudryk and Fede Valverde

Reports claim that Chelsea are ready to swoop in and hijack a deal for one of Arsenal's top targets, with the Blues considering him "perfect for their project".

Ronaldo Reveals Which Countries He Had Offers From

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are now interested in signing Ukrainian attacker Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk to bolster what has been a struggling Blues forward line this season.

Manager Graham Potter has so far struggled to find his footing at Stamford Bridge since stepping into the club's hot seat in September 2022, and in an apparent attempt to remedy this, the club's hierarchy have availed a war chest of funds for the Englishman to utilise in this transfer window.

A deal for Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile has reportedly already been agreed, while striker David Datro Fofana has already joined the team.

The two-time European champions have also reportedly finalised a deal to bring France international and RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku to the club at the end of the season, while they are also working on bringing Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez to the club.

The five-time Premier League champions will, however, only push forward in their negotiations for Ukraine winger Mudryk should a deal failed to materialise for the Gunners.

Arsenal had an initial offer rebuffed, and are now awaiting a response to a second bid as they also try and add to their attacking roster this January.

Mudryk's preference is believed to be to make his way to the Emirates Stadium, with personal terms not expected to be an issue for the attacker.

It is understood that all that is left is for Arsenal and Shakhtar to agree a payment structure for the potential deal.

While the Premier League leaders remain confident of securing the 21-year-old's signature, Chelsea will seemingly be waiting to pounce on any collapse in negotiations.
