Rashford Responds To Man Utd Exit Rumours

Rashford Responds To Man Utd Exit Rumours

Marcus Rashford

With six months remaining on Marcus Rashford's current deal and having been linked heavily with a move away from Manchester United, the Englishman has spoken out regarding his contract situation.

PSG President Makes Big Messi Contract Admission

The Manchester native's deal with the Red Devils is set to expire at the end of the season, and come 1 January, the 25-year-old will be eligible to sign a pre-contract with any club outside of the Premier League.

Rashford seems to be returning to his best form this season, with the attacker accruing eight goals and three assists so far for the Mancunians.

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has openly admitted to courting the versatile forward since the off-season, claiming he would be open to signing him should the opportunity present itself.

With reports linking the United academy graduate with a move away from the only football club he has ever played for, the Daily Star recently suggested that the Red Devils were willing to offer Rashford a gigantic £400 000 (R8.4 million) a week in wages to persuade him to extend his stay.

However, the England international took to social media to extinguish the rumours.

"Can we please stop making up these stories?" he wrote on Twitter.

"Mine and the club's objectives are to hopefully get into the Champions League this season.

"This isn't helpful. Thank you."

United manager Erik ten Hag has revealed that the club intends to trigger the one-year option in his current contract, perhaps with a view to protecting their asset and negotiating fresh terms during the off-season.

Rashford returns to Carrington having scored three goals for the Three Lions at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, tied with Bukayo Saka for the most goals for the 1966 world champions.

The striker is likely to return to England carrying more responsibility following Cristiano Ronaldo's departure from Old Trafford during the World Cup hiatus.
