The transfer of Matias Esquivel to Mamelodi Sundowns has officially been confirmed. The 24-year-old is already on South African shores, with both Downs and Club Lanus confirming the transfer on social media.

The player is expected to hit the ground running when the DStv Premiership returns in February and signs on a four-and-a-half year deal.

Esquivel follows the signing of defender Zuko Mdunyelwa, who officially joined Masandawana in December 2023.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Official: Sundowns' New Arrival Confirmed!" story:

"Welcome home of Champions boy, seven in a row is loading," jimmyntjana20.

"Sundowns are now is buying too many foreign players, where are Nasir and Mendieta?" says Yellow dawana.

"We welcome you boy, and our foes must not worry too much because KA BO YELLOW wants to conquer Africa and not only Soweto teams," says Chupe deSAMBA.

"He is the little magician," says Saavedra.

"He is gonna be the flop of the season, this is a cow," says mazelesiphamandla.

"Sometimes it saves us from stress to simply accept that Sundowns are conducting their business very well. Over the years, Sundowns have been trying to lure some of the best South American players to Mzansi. That should be commended, instead of you showing hatred," replies makausemakause53.

"Congratulations to the football club. Congratulations to the Motsepe family and the yellow nation," says Saavedra.

Read: Pirates Announce Two New Signings

Orlando Pirates have completed the double signing of winger Thabiso Lebitso and midfielder Thalente Mbatha, after the Buccaneers parted ways with Bienvenu Eva Nga.

28-year-old Lebitso joins Pirates from Chippa United, where he has spent the last four-and-a-half seasons, on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Mbatha, who is 23, arrives on a six-month loan deal from SuperSport United, but Pirates will have an option to make it permanent at the end of the campaign.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Pirates Announce Two New Signings" story:

"Bringing more midfielders while the likes of Makhaula, Saleng, Makaringe, Pule, Matrose, Otladisa, Kapinga, Dlamini etc. are there is a waste. Bucs need a striker or two, then that would be enough for this season," says vieramshengu2.

"If it were Sundowns, we would be hearing 'Sundowns kills players'," says makausemakause53.

"I pity both players because they will be on the bench. Pirates like signing players and not use them, then they loan them out," says sfisosigayoyo.
