Let's take a closer look at what they had to say...

Comments

The reigning DStv Premiership Players' Player of the Season could be set for a move away from Orlando Pirates on loan, according to Siya Crew sources.

Monnapule Saleng was the talk of the PSL last season but with a drop in form, he's falled down the pecking order at Pirates, resulting in Hugo Broos dropping him from the Bafana Bafana squad.

A Siya source revealed that Pirates feels that he needs some game time to rediscover his form and are looking for a suitable place for Saleng to join on a short-term deal.

Saleng's contract expires in June 2025 and a separate source indicated that Bucs believe that the winger can still contribute at a high level in the future.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Pirates Could Loan Out Star Player" story:

"Players are human beings and get affected when a good move overseas is denied. It affects their motivation which impacts their form and desire to play the game.

"There is a lot we are not told as to why a players that was so good and in the national team, is now spoken of as a loanee out! All the best to you Saleng, get your head space in order and enjoy your game," says khothakhosi.

"If we won't use him, then let the club sell him, but don't waste his talent like this. Our administration is going to kill this boy just because they want to prove a point.

"It would be heartbreaking to see Pirates loan out Saleng, while we keep the likes of Dlamini on the bench. It would truly not make sense," says Godide.

"How can you lone out your best player last season? To loan Saleng and leave Magkopa, Makhaula etc. doesn't make sense to me but I'm a Chiefs supporter, we stay out of our neighbour's business," says sphiwemsibitso.

"Talent vs plumber. The coach must go because he's changing of our playing style, it is affecting the team. They're loaning him out but they have signed a winger from Chippa. Pirates has always played with wingers, from the times of Joseph Ngake, Tlou Segolela to mention a few. Saleng saved Jose's job last season," says user599711.

"The Plumber must go finish and klaar," says user599711.

"But we all know it's not him. We will bring in 10 more coaches and the problem will still be the same, so long as there is interference from the administration. Look at the Black Label cup, he was free to do as he pleases having only spent two days with the players including DDC youngsters and still did well against a strong Stellenbosch side," replies Godide.

"We were told he is better than [Themba] Zwane," says Dominate-downs.

"No man. Riveiro must be loaned out. His system is not up to scratch. If management does not release this coach, we'll lose good players because of him. Jose, more often than not, wins matches by sheer luck," says tbsafrica.

"It shows that his award was given on a silver plate. One season wonder. Same as Lorch. Zwane or Williams deserved it," says afl.

"There we go again, as if loaning out Goodman Mosele wasn't good enough, Pirates fumble once again. How do you release good players and keep Cows like Makaringe? Whoever is responsible for recruitment at Pirates has to be investigated for sabotage," says @ThizaK.

"If I was a player I would not agree to be loaned out twice, its either I stay and fight for selection or request to be released. Most players who are loaned out more than once ended up not making it at their parent club," says Manephilly.

"Player's Players of the season going on loan? Those that voted for Teboho are now vindicated," says makausemakause53.

"What is Teboho doing? There's nothing wrong with Saleng. It's either management or the coach. Remember Saleng was supposed to go overseas and the deal just disappeared. He was also underpaid. They might not be playing him because of these issues. He needs just to sign a pre contract and leave. He can't be a bad player overnight," replies oupa.phiri27.

"One season wonder," says Saavedra.

Peter Shalulile gave an honest assessment of the areas that were lacking in his game prior to joining Mamelodi Sundowns.

Shalulile, who broke through at Highlands Park between 2015 and 2020, transitioned from right-back to become a prolific striker under Owen Da Gama.

Despite being deadly in front of goal, Shalulile game needed polishing tactically and in other key technical areas. Shalulile says he was in awe by the level at Downs when he first joined.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Shalulile: Before Sundowns I Was Poor..." story:

"'Sundowns kill careers' says Chiefs fans and others. The truth shall set you free, a truth is durable and it stands the test of time. Sundowns is head and shoulders above the REST in SA," His Majesty Yellow PSL Pitbull.

"I never see players speaking the truth like you my boy, wow. I think that's why God blesses you each and every season, you're soldier," says Tekenya wale downs.

"I LOVE the heading 'Before I came to Sundowns I was poor,' great journalism. looking at the heading, you might think it's about money but it's not, beautiful," says Yellow dawana.

"When we say that there's proper coaching at Chloorkop, people think that we're claiming," says Shikabala.

"Leave them member and they will always talk negatively about anything Sundowns does. Just for example, to mention only one player Khuliso Mudau from Black Leopards and no one ever thought he would be like this now," says bhekilekhuleni6.

"We dearly love you boy you have done it all," says Cutter.

"We love you so much Sha Sha. Yellow I remain," says King Nesh.
