Tanzania have released their Young Africans stars early in order to prepare for their upcoming CAF Champions League quarter-final against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF) has allowed the Young Africans players who were with the national team to leave camp early to rejoin their club to prepare for their upcoming CAF Champions League clash with Mamelodi Sundowns.

This Saturday, Yanga are set to host the reigning DStv Premiership champions in their quarter-final first leg at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.

The match, however, comes only days after the Taifa Stars play their final international friendly against Moldova in Azerbaijan.

With a contingent of their stars playing for Miguel Gamondi’s side, the TFF has seemingly aided the Dar es Salaam-based team by releasing Young Africans stars Bakari Mwamnyeto, Ibrahim Hamad, Mudathir Yahya and Clement Mzize early in order to adequately prepare for the tie.

"We have permitted Yanga and Simba players to join their teams ahead of their crucial CAF Champions League quarter-final matches," said Tanzania interim boss Hemed Suleiman, as per The Citizen.

While Gamondi might have more time with his Tanzanian nationals, the same report claims that foreign stars such as Djigui Diarra, Kennedy Musonda, Stephane Aziz Ki and Pacome Zouzoua will only be arriving back in east Africa on 27 March, contingent on flight connections as they are expected to compete until the end of their respective nations' FIFA Series matches.
