Chelsea are reportedly ready to break the transfer record once again to sign an African star, who has become their main target.

The Blues are seemingly still eager to sign an out-an-out striker next year despite already signing Christopher Nkunku this term.

According to transfer journalist Rudy Galetti, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen remains Chelsea's top priority next season.

The Nigerian has bagged 11 goals in 17 appearances in the Serie A this season on the back of helping the club win their first Serie A title in 30 years last campaign.

The Super Eagles striker recently put pen-to-paper on a new deal with the Naples outfit  until 2026, which includes a release clause.

Galetti added that Chelsea are prepared to meet the player's €160 million (R3.2 billion) release clause, while there would be no issue with personal terms.

Earlier in the year, Osimhen confirmed he has already made up his mind about the next season.

“The rumour is going around about me linked with the Premier League," Osimhen told CBS.

"Of course, when you’re one of the hottest strikers in the world you expect this type of thing, it’s one of the biggest and best leagues in the world.

“For me, I’m with Napoli, signed a new contract and enjoying my time there with the team, at the end of the season I’ve already made up my mind, I already know what I want to do in my career.

“Since I’ve started, I’ve been the one making my own decisions on everything and it’s working out well for me. I already know the next step I want to take so for now I just want to finish the season strong.”
