Abha chiefs reportedly held a meeting to discuss what led to Pitso Mosimane's side losing 8-0 against Al Nassr earlier this week.

Abha Club executives are believed to have held an emergency meeting following the 8-0 drubbing the team received at the hands of Al Nassr, and Pitso Mosimane's future could be impacted as a result.

According to Saudi Arabian newspaper Al-Riyadiah, the South African tactician is at risk of losing his job after he suffered the biggest defeat of his career.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a second successive hat-trick in the Saudi Pro League as he and his Knights of Najd teammates inflicted a major blow to Mosimane's aspirations of keeping Abha in the division.

The 59-year-old was appointed as head coach of Abha in January with the objective of helping them avoid relegation, but after the heavy loss to Luis Castro's side, it seems Mosimane's tenure could be cut short.

The same report claims that the club, headed by president Dr. Ahmed Al-Hadithi, called for an urgent meeting to be held with the players and technical and administrative staff on Wednesday in order to find out the reasons for such a performance.

The loss leaves them on 22 points and second from bottom, but all is not necessarily lost for them as there are only two points between them and Al Akhdoud, who are the nearest team outside of the drop zone.
