Dier received a four-match ban this week after he climbed into the stands to confront a fan who had been reportedly arguing with his brother in March.
However, the Tottenham Hotspur star is not the first player to have confronted a support during or after a game.
Manchester United legend Eric Cantona perhaps had the most memorable confrontation when flying kicked a Crystal Palace supporter in 1995.
The Frenchman received an eight-month for kicking the Palace supporter, who had been abusive towards the United forward.
Cantona is not the only former Red Devils star on the list as his countryman Patrice Evra kicked at one of his own supporters during his time at Marseille in 2017.
Evra and the rest of the team received abuse from the supporters, but the ex-defender kicked the supporter and was sent off, before UEFA handed him a seventh-month ban from European competitions.
