Venue: DHL Stadium
U-20 Africa Cup of Nations-winning duo Jody Ah Shene and Shakeel April were included in the Citizens' line-up while Prins Tjiueza started in the attack, as Darwin Gonzalez was not included in the matchday squad.
Th Citizens dominated in the early stages of the first half but they had to wait until the 23rd minute for a chance when Haashim Domingo played in Ah Shene, who saw his strike palmed away by goalkeeper Sekhoane Moerane.
Orbit, meanwhile, were seemingly quite content with sitting deep in their own half to frustrate the Citizens for most of the first stanza, however they were unable to provide any real threat on the counter attack.
The home side made a couple changes at the start of the second half as 16-year-old Emile Witbooi and Thulani Serero replaced Ah Shene and Luyolo Slatsha.
The change nearly paid off seven minutes into the first half when Witbooi carved out some space on the edge of the box before unleashing a shot that rattled the crossbar.
Orbit nearly silenced the home fans on with their first chance on 77 minutes, as substitute Ayanda Lukhele was slipped through on goal but the strike sent his effort inches wide of Darren Keet's upright.
City squandered a great chance at the other end on 86 minutes when Moerane's could only parry April's clearance into the path of Cee-Jay Bezuidenhout, but the Orbit goalkeeper redeem himself by making the a good reactionary save.
Both sides were made to rue those missed openings, as neither could find a winning goal in the latter stages and were forced to settle for a point, putting Orbit top of the table.
