Ghanasoccernet reported last night that the 26-year-old would be unveiled as a Buccaneer shortly after the 2015 African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea, however his current club are denying that there's even been any contact from Parktown.
Quintin Jettoo, Maritzburg's operations manager, has explained that they are currently weighing up an offer for the Ghanaian international from overseas, though they are yet to make a decision.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Jettoo said, "The rumours linking Mohammed to Pirates have been around for a long time, but there's been no formal offer from them. They made an enquiry once before, but that's it.
"We have had a formal offer from Europe though, I can't say the club, but we're weighing that up at the moment."
