Awal, 26, is currently in Equatorial Guinea with Avram Grant's side, but has signed for Al Shabab in Saudia Arabia while over there.

Maritzburg's official Twitter account confirmed his departure, saying, "Breaking News- The #TeamofChoice have concluded a transfer agreement with Al Shabab Club in Saudi Arabia for Defender Mohammed Awal."

The defender has been linked with a move to Orlando Pirates for several years now, however Maritzburg recently explained that they haven't had any sort of concrete bid from the Buccaneers for his services.
