The central defender, who has been in the plans of Bafana Bafana and the SA U20 team, finished the 2014/15 season with SuperSport United.
He has been at the Tshwane club on loan from Ajax Cape Town.
Usuthu have added the player to their roster for the upcoming season to increase their chances of gaining promotion to the PSL.
Konqobe has joined Usuthu on a season-long loan deal.
AmaZulu have already signed a number of players for the new season, including Mbongeni Gumede, Thabo Moloi, Sage Stephens, Linda Bhengu, Alan Roberts, Mpendulo Dlamini and Nkanyiso Zungu.
