It was reported in today’s issue of Soccer Laduma that Kaizer Chiefs defender, Tefu Mashamaite, could be assessing his options before committing to the club.
Mashamaite, 30, has been a cornerstone in the Amakhosi’s success over the past three seasons, however will see his current contract expire in just under four months’ time.
With that in mind, the Amakhosi are now attempting to tie down their current captain, however he is yet to put pen-to-paper on a new deal.
The Siya crew is led to believe that there has been talk of a potential move into Scandinavia for the tall central defender, and the he could be reluctant to sign a long-term contract at Naturena until he has considered his options fully.
Chiefs have offered ‘Masha’ a new two-year deal at the club, and while he is thought to be happy where he is at present, it remains to be seen whether he will put pen-to-paper on a contract or not.
