Mamelodi Sundowns influential midfielder, Teko Modise, has spoken out on his delight in winning the Playmaker of The Year award at the club's award ceremony held on Sunday, August 17.
‘The Navigator’ as he is affectionately known in the local football fraternity, was recognized for his efforts in the 2013/14 Absa Premiership season where he was instrumental in the Brazilians winning their sixth PSL title.
“This is the first award I have ever received from the club and it comes after a good season that saw us lift the Absa Premiership title,” Modise said on his official website.
“Yet again I am humbled and this serves as a confidence booster for the current season. I think the title of the award also describes the role I play in the team, as a teammate, a friend and a professional. I get fulfilment in assisting others to shine.”
The Downs number 10 also reiterated his desire to do better for the Chloorkop-based outfit this season, so as to retain their PSL title.
“I want to do more than I have in the previous season. I aim to work hard and help the team keep its champion status,” Google Earth concluded.
