Former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs has signed for Wits! The former Bafana Bafana shot-stopper has agreed to a three-year deal.
The goalkeeper has been without a club for the past week, after his contract with the Mayfair team expired at the end of June.
He has not played for the Buccaneers since picking up an injury last year, and was subsequently replaced in the starting line-up completely by Senzo Meyiwa.
Josephs signed for Pirates from Wits, and will now be returning to his former team, as orginally speculated.
Michael Hughes of MSCSPORTS, the company that manages Moeneeb Josephs, confirmed the news.
He said. “Moeneeb's contract ended in June and we asked the player what he wanted to do. He indicated he wanted to stay in Jo’burg and Wits declared their interest and a deal was expedited.
“Earlier this morning the deal was concluded. Moeneeb has signed a three-year deal and the club has an option for a further two years.”
The club's general manager, George Mogotsi, also confirmed the deal, saying, “He has signed. The deal has been finalised. He is now our player.”
