Amajimbos continued their African Youth Championship preparation with a 1-1 draw against Zambia at the Nkoloma Stadium.
Molefi Ntseki’s boys opened the scoring in the first half, with Bidvest Wits starlet Liam Jordan getting on the end of corner to slot past the Zambian keeper.
However, the Zambians managed to level matters before the halfitme break, courtesy of a strike from Patson Daka, which ultimately proved to be the final goal of the match.
This was Amajimbos' first of two friendly encounters before heading off to the Youth Championships Niger, where are they are pitted against Mali, Cote d'Ivoire and Cameroon.
“We are on track with our preparations for Niger,” said Ntseki after the game.
“We only had 14 players to choose from today as many are nursing minor injuries, and I am impressed with the boys’ performance. Yes there is still a long way to go before they boys understand what I want from them, but today was very encouraging.
We are very glad that Zambia agreed to play us today, for many of the boys they have now seen what will be expected of them at the CAF 2015 African Youth Championships, and as small as they are we have a way of dealing with the physical aspect of the opponent like we did today.”
Nteski's side take on the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria in their next encounter, before heading out to Niger for the tournament which gets underway from 15 February.
