Manqele and Mphono have been at loggerheads, since the player’s move to Chiefs during the July/August transfer window.
Mphono has been unhappy that he was left out of the deal when the striker joined Chiefs from Chippa United.
While Mphono has been making attempts to meet with Chiefs about getting to the bottom of the matter, Manqele and his lawyers sent the agent a letter of termination of the representation contract the player has been having with him.
Mphono has confirmed to the Siya crew that the meeting with Chiefs went ahead and that the player has cut ties with him.
“We had our meeting with Chiefs last week. That’s the meeting we requested from the club. We met with Bobby (Motaung) and Manqele.
“We were not fighting with Chiefs. Manqele was at fault. We requested that Chiefs facilitated on the matter. It was becoming a bit of a struggle to get in contact with Manqele because he changed contact numbers.
“Bobby told us that they spoke with the player. They told us that the player accepted his mistakes. The player gave us an offer and we accepted it.
“Our contract with Jabu (Manqele) was going to end in 2017. But we have accepted his offer and released him. He breached the contract but he has given us an offer for compensation,” said Mphono.
Manqele and his Chiefs teammates have been preparing for their league game against Golden Arrows which is scheduled for Tuesday.
