Owen da Gama has confirmed that another Bafana Bafana international has been sidelined by injury, which has become a concern to both the national team and his club commitments as the Absa Premiership returns to action this weekend.
Rivaldo Coetzee featured in the full 90-minutes on Saturday, 12 November, when Bafana claimed a 2-1 victory over Senegal at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
However, SAFA have confirmed that the player will not be featuring in the international friendly against Mozambique on Tuesday, 15 November, due to sustaining an ankle injury.
"The coach announced that defender Rivaldo Coetzee had picked up an ankle injury and has been ruled out of the match on Tuesday. Otherwise all other players are available for selection," Da Gama revealed in a SAFA press-release.
Coetzee is also one of the vital defenders in the Ajax Cape Town set-up, and since the extent of the player's injury has not yet been confirmed, the club could be without the centre-back when they face Maritzburg United at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, 19 November, as they look to collect their first win of the season.
