Moyes Remains Undecided On Pienaar

Sunderland head coach, David Moyes, appears to be undecided on whether to offer Steven Pienaar a contract at the club, however, he is still training there.
The 34-year-old former Bafana Bafana captain is currently clubless after being released by Everton at the end of the season, and there has been talk of him reuniting with Moyes after he started training at the Black Cats’ Academy of Light.
Pienaar – who didn’t travel for the friendly with Borussia Dortmund last week – was linked with a return to South Africa following his Toffees exit, but has been training with Sunderland since the start of this month, and will be hopeful of landing himself another contract in the English Premier League.
According to the Sunderland Echo, “Former Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar remains on trial at the club as he looks to win a contract. The 34-year-old South African international played under Moyes at former club Everton.
“Pienaar didn’t travel to Austria for the draw with Borussia Dortmund but is training with the rest of the squad at the Academy of Light this week. Moyes is looking to add to his midfield options.”
It remains to see how long Pienaar will be given to prove himself in Wearside, however, with the season approaching it’s start he will be eager to finalise his future as soon as possible.
