Orlando Pirates may look to send rising star Thabiso Sesane on loan when the transfer window opens in January, close sources have revealed.

The centre-back returned to the club prior to the start of the current season after spending the previous one on loan at All Stars before they was sold to Black Leopards.

He was one of the top-performing players in the Motsepe Foundation Championship and it came as no surprise that Pirates recalled him to compete for his place in the side.

However, the going has proved tough for the 23-year-old thus far as experienced centre-backs like Tapelo Xoki, Nkosinathi Sibisi and Olisa Ndah have been preferred to play ahead of him.

Sesane is rated highly as one of the best young players to have come out of the Buccaneers' development in recent times and the club believes he has a future with the team. Since being promoted in 2020, he has had loan spells with Jomo Cosmos and All Stars respectively and has been commended for his progress.

"Pirates have big plans for Sesane and that's why it will be important for him to play regularly. He's got age on his side and looking at the situation at Pirates right now, he doesn't stand a chance of playing many games this season. A move on loan is being considered for the boy for the second half of the season," revealed the source.
