The Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper has maintained his outstanding form for both the Soweto giants and the national team so far this season, where he also went on a lengthy run of clean sheets.
As confirmed in a statement from SAFA Media, Mashaba described Khune as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, "He is undoubtedly one of the best goalkeepers in the world and I am still baffled as to why one of the top European clubs hasn't signed him.
"He is world-class and is among the top 10 goalkeepers in the world. With him marshalling the backline, you can be rest assured half your problems are solved," Mashaba has been quoted as saying by SAFA Media.
Mashaba has emphasised that Bafana are not intimidated by the big name players from Senegal, as the home side is preparing for the game against the Lions of Teranga - that is scheduled for the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
"We might not have dominated them but they haven't dominated us either. I think on our day, we have what it takes to beat the best sides in the world and Senegal included," said Mashaba.
The coach has reiterated that Mamelodi Sundowns' victory in the CAF Champions League has brought confidence within the Bafana squad.

"We know what happened when Orlando Pirates won the CAF Champions League title in 1995 and the subsequent year Bafana Bafana lifted the Africa Cup of Nations. The spin offs are always positive," explained Mashaba as quoted by SAFA.
