Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho reportedly wants to sign a Bundesliga star to replace Wayne Rooney at Old Trafford.
According to Spanish publication Don Balon, the Red Devils manager has told club officials he would like work with Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus.
The English giants are expected to spend big in the next transfer window, and it is widely expected that they will be looking for replacements for Rooney and the ageing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Mourinho is said to have identified Reus as the perfect replacement for Rooney as he is relatively young and experienced in his position.
The 27-year-old has had his fair share of injuries in his career, and this season too, but he has still managed to score 11 goals in 21 appearances for his club in 2016/17.
Rooney, who has had very little game time under Mourinho in this campaign, is expected to move to a club in the Chinese Super League at the end of the season, despite the player saying he would like to stay in the Premier League.
The English giants have also been linked with Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann and Torino's Andrea Belotti, among others, in recent months, but both are seen as possible placements for Ibrahimovic should he depart.
