After squandering a two-goal lead in the DStv Premiership over the weekend, Baroka FC have confirmed changes to their technical team.
Club chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has confirmed that head coach Kgoloko Thobejane has been demoted to the side's DStv Diski Challenge side after their 3-2 defeat to Swallows FC over the weekend. Baroka had taken a two-goal lead, but threw away three points, which led to Mphahlele's decision to make immediate changes to the technical team.
Former Cape Town City and Moroka Swallows defender Vincent Kobola will take charge of the team until the end of the season. He will be assisted by Stanley Nkoana.
"We have taken him to the DDC and Kobola will take care of the first team," Mphahlele told the Siya crew.
"Sometimes coaches can be stubborn and that does not help them, because he cannot accept that he failed, you know. We had to make the decision."
Baroka are bottom of the standings in the Premiership, five points behind 15th placed TS Galaxy. There are four games to go in the season, meaning there is no room for error as they look to avoid relegation to the GladAfrica Championship.
