'You're Leading And Your Goalkeeper Does That, It Hurts'

Tshini!

There is a plot twist in the title race! Title contenders Mamelodi Sundowns played to a 1-1 draw against Polokwane City after an own goal by goalkeeper Denis Onyango levelled the scoreline. The error and result came as a shock to many and some fans are happy about it as the title race is heating up.

Soccer Laduma reader and regular contributor Chaledi maintains that Onyango is still the best goalkeeper in Africa and has praised the team for their performance against Polokwane City:

"Onyango is still the best in Africa. We forgive him. Anyone can make mistakes. We will bounce back. We are Sundowns after all. The team played very well."

The draw has left some fans hurting more than optimistic considering that Sundowns was in the lead prior to Onyango's own goal. Soccer Laduma reader nps43168 seems to have felt the pain of losing out on three points in the manner that Sundowns did:

"Eish, if your team is leading by one-nil then the goalkeeper makes a mistake like that, it hurts."

However, not all fans are hurting about Onyango's blunder and the result. Sundowns critics feel this is exactly what the title race needed. Although Bucsfever16 seems to be a Sundowns critic, they have urged Onyango to stay strong. However, the Soccer Laduma reader thinks that this is the perfect opportunity for other title contenders such as Orlando Pirates to keep up:

"This kind of scoreline is certainly good for league contenders particularly my beloved Bucs all thanks to Denis Onyango's blunder though I feel sorry for him. I hope he'll be strong, such mistakes do happen in football nothing strange about it. The league is wide open at this point and hopefully, Pirates will win tomorrow [on Wednesday] to keep up the pace with league contenders.
