Reader's Voice: Maybe Gabuza Was In The Wrong Team…

As part of his spectacular career turnaround, Thamsanqa Gabuza has added silverware to his cabinet, just months after leaving Orlando Pirates.

As a result, fans feel that perhaps the striker was not the problem…

"Basically, Gabuza was in a wrong team all these past seasons."

These were the views of SL Supporter @Junior25, who feels that Gabuza might not have been the problem at Orlando Pirates.

The 31-year-old has found a new lease on life with Matsatsantsa and played a vital role in helping the team secure the lucrative MTN8 title on Saturday after they overcame a stubborn Highlands Park.

His views are echoed by more SL supporters who feel that there are a handful of players, including departed coach Milutin Sredojevic, who have lifted silverware after leaving the Soweto giants, whose four-year trophy drought continues.

SL Supporter: Swinedunus-6-Rats-0-namanje

"Gabuza decided to leave a trophyless team for trophies. Micho left the trophyless team for a trophy in Egypt. Qalinge left the trophyless club for a trophy. Kudakwashe Mahachi left the trophyless team for a trophy."

 SL Supporter: @Mgcin

"For all these years Gabuza was in the wrong team."

SL Supporter: Flipping lyf

"Gabuza and Micho already won trophies while the drought continues at Pirates."

There are also those fans who are genuinely happy for 'Ghanda-Ghanda', who according to them, was treated unfairly at Bucs and was an undeserving recipient of boos from fans.

SL Supporter: Freddymabhena@40.com

"As buccaneer I'm happy for Gabuza, I use to like him and I was against this thing of booing him because I could see his potential. When he left for SuperSport, I told a lot of Bucs fans that at small and organized team like Matsatsantsa, he is going to do well."

SL Supporter: Propaganda

"Congratulations to Gabuza as well, after spending much time at Pirates frustrated with limited game-time and poor goalscoring record, he surfaces at SSU as a born again striker."

Do you think Gabuza was simply at the wrong team during his spell with Pirates?
