On-loan SuperSport United midfielder George Lebese has responded to Pitso Mosimane's comments on who should be benched if the team is playing well. The Mamelodi Sundowns loanee took to Twitter to say coaches should not lie to players about game time to lure them to their clubs.
A number of fans have slammed Lebese for saying this. Bhut'Bhekani BK Ntuli labelled the midfielder as "lazy" and had a warning for him:
"This one is lazy. He's not hungry at all. If he continues like this, he'll find himself at Baroka next season."

It's important to remember that Lebese has made only 10 appearances since joining Masandawana. Bongani Stober Mahlalela said Sundowns are star-studded and if Lebese does not improve, he will not get game time:
"Sundowns is a star-studded side; if you don't pull up your game, you will be sidelined. Simple as that. Even at SuperSport, Lebese won't find it easy."

Lebese's response upset many fans and left them feeling like he had a sense of entitlement. One such fan is Soccer Laduma reader Siphamandla S Xaba, who lashed out at the player on the publication's Facebook page:
"George sounds like a novice player. Who said you are entitled to get game time? Who said it's a given that you are going to have game time? You [must] perform better than the player you are competing with for a space in the team. You must perform better. You must outperform him so that the coach will pick you ahead of him for the first XI. He must stop being bitter and admit that competition failed him at Sundowns."
